Description

Earlier this year, on May 25, new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) requirements were officially implemented for companies that collect data on all individuals in European Union (EU) countries. As a result, new standards for consumer rights regarding their personal data are now in place.

AmCham Sweden invites you to hear from Amanda M. Witt, Partner at Kilpatrick Townsend, and Brian Belanger, General Counsel and Senior Vice President at Husqvarna. These two legal experts will provide an overview of the GDPR, and a review of the first four months of its effectiveness.

The discussion will also include some of the most important lessons learned thus far, including predictions on what should we expect next. This will cover some of the most challenging aspects of the GDPR, including documentation requirements, security breach notifications, international transfers, and first experiences with enforcement of the regulation.
